Shirt: Lovers and Friends - Shorts: Runwaydreamz
This outfit is starting to become one of my favorites for summer since it is still spring with the long sleeve shirt, but adds that classic summer denim short vibe.
Denim shorts can be worn with a lot of items but here are the main garments that I tend to steer clear of: tunic tops - denim shirts - really tight shirts - or any flashy and sparkly shirt.
I tend to stay away from tunic tops because it drowns you out and it drowns the body shape and makes your legs appear shorter since the shorts will be covered.

I stay away from really tight shirts because the tight denim makes the shirt look like it is showing all of the body outlines. A tight shirt will challenge the shorts and make it look like the top is too tight for your body.
The last thing I want to stay away from is any sparkly shirts, since the shorts are casual enough a fancy top will look offputting.
But once again, denim shorts are a key staple in a wardrobe.
